Description

This is one of two pieces Bicho did for me for my 26th birthday of one of favorite DC villains.

Madelyn was one of the cartoon-original villains from the underrated "Static Shock" cartoon. She was a "Little Miss Perfect" overachiever who was exposed to the Big Bang and thus was one of the many superpowered Bang Babies that plagued Bang Babies. Madelyn's prissy attitude alienated most of her classmates and so no one wanted to sponsor her for class president, which was the last thing Madelyn needed to push her off the deep end. She originally had the ability to read minds and control people, turning them into "Brain Puppets." Madelyn's first plan was to make the other candidates concede to her before she decided to just brainwash all of Dakota so she'd be class president by default. She couldn't control Static because of his electrical abilities interfering with her mind control, but she was able to invade his dreams and discover his secret identity. Static electrocuted her and seemingly erased some of her memories and her powers, but in her second appearance she developed telekinesis and tried to take over leadership of the local Bang Babies.

What I love about her is the scope of her powers and her pettiness. It's the entertaining kind of myopic villainy where she's willing to brainwash an entire society in order to win a class election, and she at one point goes on a rant towards the Brain Puppet masses about how pissed she is that no one ever invites her to parties or sleepovers despite all her awards and hard work.
