DescriptionBatman - The Killing Joke is my favourite comic book of all time."WHERRRRRE IS HE?" "DO YOU REALIZE? DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'VE SET FREE? WHERE IS HE" This absolutely mind blowing story from 1988 is written by the master Alan Moore. Brian Bolland, the god-father of covers and also well known for his work on Judge Dredd, confirms his ingenuity with his incredible illustrations. Both artists raised the level for further Joker-Stories. Sad for me... The prices for the original pages are crazy! I would have to be insane, if only I would think of trying. So I'm happy with the prelims. The details are fantastic and unbelievable! Social/Sharing |

Really cool prelims! It's an education to see how Bolland created these memorable scenes --- what a fantastic artist! Thanks for posting!

This is incredible!!! I have grown to really appreciate prelims as they are more affordable, the artist still works with them directly and they are crucial to the storytelling process. Great pick up man these prelims are gorgeous!!!

This is teriffic!! I used to own some of these, and years ago I spoke with Brian at a convention. I showed him my prelim and asked what the working process was. He said he took these prelims, projected them onto the final board, and retraced the pencils. He would then ink the final page. That explains why most of these prelims are so tight. That's a nice piece of history! Congrats!

Thanks for your comment, Tony. I really appreciate your letting me know. This makes sense to me, too.

SO awesome... At SDCC a few years back one of the premier auction houses had the original interior of Barbara's shooting for around $50k. I actually thought that was a bargain ;)
