DescriptionKind of a long story with this piece. I have been commissioning single figure All-Star Squadron commissions from Arvell Jones for a couple years now being we see each other a couple times a year. Our agreement was that we would both stick around until I had every character who appeared in the book.Knowing that probably wouldn't happen with one,even two per year, I had my eye on a group pin-up that Arvell did a couple years ago. I was planning on picking it up from him at last years Motor City Comic Con, but Arvell accidently sold it. After some fussing, I hung my head low and went home, not knowing Arvell felt worse than I did. That brings us to this years Great Lakes Comic Con. I knew Arvell was going to be there and as always looked forward to seeing him even in light of last years tragedy! We met up and Arvell said he had something for me. He then whipped out this beautiful piece that he had penciled after last years con.The first thing I noticed as my jaw hit the floor was that wonderful Giant Spectre!! He had the piece with him at another convention he had attended last year with Mike Gustovich( Who I have always admired from his days on Justice Machine). Mike saw the pencils and asked Arvell if he could ink it.Arvell said yes and this is the final product! I Couldn't be happier as Arvell and I both agreed that this piece was superior to the previous one that got away! You'll notice a little bit of everything here from The Original JSA, All-Stars, Freedom Fighters and Captian Marvel! Truly an epic piece of work from these two legends of the comic world! Congrats, Rob, you persevered through the initial disappointment and came out of it with a wonderful piece!
