PUBLISHED IN 1977, THIS IS REALLY THE FIRST ACTUAL NOSTALGIA PIECE IN MY COLLECTION. MY MOTHER USED TO BUY ME UNDERGROUND COMIX WHEN I WAS A KID......I DON'T THINK SHE EVER LOOKED INSIDE MOST OF THEM ;)
FROM UNDERGROUND COMIXJOINT: This groundbreaking comic book was edited by Leonard Rifas and features stories about real crime cases and other unethical deeds committed by corporations across America, including the infamous Karen Silkwood case (published here seven years before the movie came out). Other stories include: "The Great American Airplane Scam of 1973," "Giant Monopolies Steal Land And Water In California," "Bad Drugs," "Racist TV," and "Outlawed Cartoons," among others. The artwork and writing is excellent throughout, featuring contributions from Greg Irons, Harry Driggs, Peter Poplaski, Trina Robbins, Guy Colwell, Sharon Kahn Rudahl, Kim Deitch and Justin Green.
