When I learned Mr Castellini was invited as a guest of the 2017 Facts festival, I was pretty excited.

I already met him before and he was already an artist I loved back then but I could not or chose not to meet his commissions’ rates.

This time I was ready and he was my main target for the festival. So I was early in the line which seemed important to me as Mr Castellini is not the fastest artist and I knew I wanted to the go the full figure with background route.

As far as the subject, it was not as easy as one would think. Mr Castellini’s main influence is obviously Big John Buscema (by way of the Italian Fumetti school). So I had to get something in that regard. Considering his splendid Silver Surfer GN, I toyed with the idea of a cosmic character. But BP having been penciled by big John in Avengers, I knew I had a chance at something nice. Upon asking the artist what he thought of the character, he seemed pretty excited at the idea.

The result speaks for itself. This is exactly what I had in mind and then some, so to say I’m ecstatic would undermine the feeling I have when I look at this one. And Mr Castellini seemed very pleased with it as well.

When you commission something that ends up being splendid, it only makes you crave for more of the same ;)

Very nice add to your BP collection! Castellini's musculature work is unique and second to none! I've gotta get a piece at some point. Congrats!

I LOVE THIS PIECE SO MUCH!It's like everything great about classic late 60's Marvel caught on one piece of paper! However long this took and whatever the cost, you got a bargain. Fantastic piece- Congrats!
