Description

Picked up this beauty at Wondercon, 2007, courtesy of Albert Moy. I love the partial silhouettes, the guy running in the first panel, the open chest cavity in the third, and the monster in the hero panel. Albert told me Mignola instructed Nowlan to enhance his pencils by adding his style to the inks. Nowlan refused, saying Mignola's pencils were perfect, so there was nothing to enhance. Good call.

Incredible page from a gem of a Mignola story. Wish there were more issues, but it's almost more perfect that there's not!

It's a stunning page. The 6-panel sequence at the top really gives that last large panel true in-story impact.
