SOLD AT AUCTION FOR $3,575.99 NOV. 2017!

Large 25.5x30.5" beautifully crafted custom frame holds artboard w/pen and ink original art for Nov. 26, 1950 "Superman" Sunday page, featuring Superman dealing w/the aftereffects of newspaper story revealing his Clark Kent alter-ego. Sunday page features 10 panels (including "Superman" title panel paste-over. Superman appears in seven panels, showing up at a honey billboard, removing images of bees and attaching them to long string from his cape. He then whirls the "swarm" over a group of people chasing a Clark Kent dummy being controlled by Superman's X-Ray Vision, using ventriloquism to scare the crowd off. Art is by Wayne Boring (1905-1987), an American comic book artist most associated w/Superman during the Golden Age into the Silver Age. Art is clean and Exc. Art is further enhanced by great frame and inner matte created by artist Dan Makara, featuring collage style utilizing various Superman comic panels from the 1950s as well as photo of Boring at lower right. Comes w/complete Sunday newspaper section this art was published in. Neat display. Boring original art for "Superman" Sunday pages is scarce. Dan Makara Collection.
