DescriptionBeautiful page signed Tony Chan, pen name of Antonio Canale (1915-1991), which pays tribute to the US comics from that era, both in terms of characters/themes and art.Written by Cesare Solini (with the pen name of Phil Anderson) and first published in Italy in 1946, Amok is clearly inspired by The Phantom, created by Lee Falk ten years before. Also, Edmea's face and expressions remind me of Will Eisner's women. Top and bottom tiers really shine! (pen and ink on artboard, roughly 16,5"x 12,5" - signed) Social/Sharing |
