I find the art from this issue fascinating, and this page is highly indicative of the reasons why. Adams starts off with two classic Deadman panels in, more or less, his own style (at that point in his career). Then, in the large panel, you have him drawing Batman in a manner that leans heavily in the direction of the "New Look" Silver Age style. But in the closeup in panel four, he gives us hints of the direction he wants to take the character.
