DescriptionSome time ago, I acquired a page from Michael Turner's Soulfire as a gift for my eldest son (see next entry in this gallery...). But, when I walked away from Aspen's booth at SDCC, I began to feel some regret that I didn't get one for myself as well...Ever since, I've kept this idea that a nice Michael Turner piece wouldn't look out of place in my gallery, so, here it is... So simple, but so powerful! I'm constantly amazed at the grace of his linework, at how universal and unique his style was. His artistic evolution led him to this point of near-absolute purity: I just wonder where he could have gone from here? Further, I'm sure... Social/Sharing |

Michael Turner produced elegance and power making it look so easy. I wish he was still here.I think it's a wonderful still image of Superman sans action. No one did it like MT! Congratulations my friend on a treasure I hope you can keep for a life time.

Congratulations my friend on a treasure I hope you can keep for a life time. Thanks a lot, My Friend! I fully agree with your comment. With just a few neat strokes, Turner conjures a striking portrait of Superman, apparently lost in a dream-like fugue, but still looking so much human... I miss him too! And, yes, I intend to keep this one with me for a while!...

Thanks Alessio! I’m still amazed by how Michael Turner manages to make Superman look so powerful while giving him an almost tender expression...
