A lovely ink-washed sketch by Giardino inside the best comic-related book I've ever read, released in 2011 as a limited/signed edition of only 500 copies by S.C.M. Edizioni, Roma.
L'Avventuriero Prudente (The Prudent Adventurer) is an exciting, detailed and lifelike biography of an... imaginary person! The most complex and charming character created by this Italian master: Max Fridman.
The book is filled with dozens of finished illustrations, comic pages and preliminary drawings and features a special section with portraits of Max Fridman as viewed by some of the best Italian artists in the field, like Corrado Mastantuono, Eugenio Sicomoro, Gabriele Dell'Otto, Giorgio Cavazzano, Ivo Milazzo, Giuseppe Palumbo, Max Frezzato, Sergio Tisselli, Sergio Toppi and others.
