Description

I love classic movies and have always been surprised at how good Marilyn was, especially in contrast to the image that is presented of her in the modern era - that of a simple “bimbo.” It’s utter BS and each time I watch one of her old movies I think about the hours she spent in acting lessons as all actresses of her time did. There wasn’t a path directly from appearing on a magazine to being regarded as an actress. You had to put in the work or Hollywood would just shitcan you and move on to the next. I love Marilyn! And what a lovely portrait by Andrew Robinson!
