Description

This powerful cover to the Dark Knight III #5 has to be without a doubt my grail piece. Recreating the iconic scene in the Dark Knight returns, as a reluctant battle between the two heroes, the kryptonite in the foreground, the armored suit and that punch, has so many story lines going through this one image at once. You can almost feel the power jumping off the cover as the Dark Knight strikes Supes with all his wit and technology, knowing that he can't really hurt his friend. This is why Gab is such a genius. He can evoke emotions and effortlessly compose a complete story within one frame.
As always, a huge thank you to Gab and David for making this happen. This and other paintings will be on display August 1st. 2018 @ 6pm at the grand opening of my gallery featuring many of important Dell'Otto pieces. The gallery is located on the 2nd floor of my shop in Brooklyn.
