Description

Steve Dikto is a genius. George Perez is a living legend. And yet even they can have an "off" day. Case in point Dr. Mayavale. He was a one-off Legion villain that was a mix and match of so many bad ideas cobbled together. Visually he was a mess ( see below)

But after a 21st century streamlined make-over, compliments of Mr. Mackie, he re-emerges as a Legion villain worthy for our heroes and reservists, to battle.And in the spirit of "this made absolutely ZERO Sense " at all, from an equally painful & forgetful once off Secret Origin Story Of The Legion Clubhouse, comes Fortress Lad to save the day.

Dr. Mayavale!!! I love that weird dude! I have one of him coming at some point in the future. And Fortress Lad to the rescue! Both of those characters put this piece over the top in terms of awesomeness!

This is utterly fantastic! Love seeing a modern yet classic take on the Reserves. I like them all but I think Elastic Lad is my favorite on this cover.

Absolutely inspired --- and if anyone had ever told me that I'd say that about something with Dr Mayavale in, I wouldn't have believed them. Just proves that even 'bad' characters can be used effectively.
