DescriptionThis is "THE COVER". Painted masterfully by Rafael López Espí for the Spanish edition of SPIDER-MAN VOL.2 N°1 (the mythical collection consisted of only 10 issues), published by Vértice in October 1974. It's titled "A terrible enemy" and The USA content corresponds to Amazing Spider-Man Vol.1 #132-133, Supernatural Thrillers Vol.1 #1, Adventure Into Mystery Vol.1 #1 (6th story). The colorful and realism is spectacular for one of the most beautiful covers that the author made to the publisher. This cover, in my opinion, has the same technic and degree of quality that the author made for famous posters in 1972. What makes this really special is that Lopez Espi painted very few covers in this size and with this quality, mainly the issues #1 (vol. 2). Probably my best piece of the author (and the most sinister no doubt), for a great day ...Social/Sharing |
