I'm a fan of Ernie's Amethyst. This is an excellent example of a fun book and the first "maxi-series." I have a <a href="https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=713176">recreation of the cover to issue 12</a> by Ernie (pencils) and Joe Rubinstein (inks).

This splash is the "big reveal" that she's not in Kansas anymore. Colon set the mood so well with all the creepy architecture.
