Description

This is probably the first piece I've acquired without having some sort of relationship to the source material. I never collected cards and never even knew this one existed, but when I saw the painting I was really struck by it and it's even wilder in person.

It's a perfect juxtaposition, and I'm rather mad I didn't think of it myself for a commission. Joki in particular is really well executed, both the pose and the expression.

Lots of technique used in the painting of this and I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure Joki is talking to me in my dreams.
