Description

This daily strip comes from one of my favorite Little Orphan Annie story lines, featuring the shoemaker Jack Boot. This strip is the last one in the story arc, and shows the benevolent shoemaker as his name is cleared. This story features Harold Gray's typical social commentary, including his Hawthornian-type townsfolk, but also shows him at the top of his drawing game. He was really hitting on all drawing cylinders at this point in the strip. September 22, 1936
