Description

The interesting aspect with this page is the depiction of the character Marlene. In earlier Moon Knight issues she is drawn as a spitting image of Stan Drake´s Eve Jones. Here, in issue 25, she is her own woman. It is common knowledge that Bill Sienkiewicz was liberating himself from imitating his mentor Neal Adams´ style at this point. I would say that the Marlene example shows that he was liberating himself from imitating Drake - both his and Adams´ mentor - too.

I think it is important when an artist establishes their own importance and it is clear that Bill made his decision to establish his own oeuvre around this point
