DescriptionAnimator Preston Blair drew the Hyacinth Hippo scenes in Disney's Fantasia and the nightclub singer in Tex Avery's MGM cartoons Red Hot Riding Hood, The Shooting of Dan McGoo, Swing Shift Cinderella, and others. He is also the author of the Walter Foster series of books on animation strongly endorsed by animation authority Jerry Beck. The rare first edition with it's original drawn examples can be seen online at the non-profit Animation Resources. Preston's brother Lee and Lee's wife Mary were also artists at the animation studios doing design work. Longtime animation art dealer Howard Lowery is selling items from the estates of the three artists. This drawing was for a project in the 1960's or 1970's.Social/Sharing |
