Description

X-Men has always been a symbol for the fight for social justice and the fight for equality of oppressed communities. This is a key moment and key page for LGBT representation in Marvel and mainstream comic book history - Marvel's first gay superhero character in Marvel's first gay wedding, published during a time when the LGBT community was hard at work in making this become a reality! Just a few years before same-sex marriage would be legally recognized in the US, this iconic scene inspired hope amongst gay geeks and allies, alike, making its rounds across social media and news outlets across the world, and despite some of the backlash, its reception has been for the majority, positive.

This is a nice and more nuanced exemple than the cover of Alpha Flight 106 ever was :)

Congrats on this iconic page from this very astonishing X-Men issue. Very controversial and so well done, it is such a great piece of X-Men and comic book history. Great art as well, such an amazing piece of art.
