I have to confess that I wasn't familiar with Joe's work until I stumbled across this piece, for sale here on CAF; I've seen a fair few of his pieces since - they're fetching increasing sums (which, given the amount of intricate work that clearly goes into them, is perhaps not surprising). But yes, I still feel this is one of his finest - excellent depiction of light and shadow...
