STEVE DITKO Ghostly Haunts #47 story page 5 Original Art (Charlton, 1975).

Steve Ditko is one of the most important artists in the history of comic books and is best known as the co-creator, with Stan Lee, of Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, and other classic Marvel and DC characters. But, in the context of Steve Ditko's 50-year career in comics, his creative involvement with Spider-Man is merely the tip of the iceberg. Steve Ditko was the undisputed Silver and Bronze Age master of fantasy and horror. His work for Charlton in the 1970's was a streamlined presentation of all that he had learned earlier in his cartooning career.
This page is realizated in twice-up scale on Bristol board (12x18). It's pure Ditko, penciler and ink, from the first panel to the last!

Splendida pagina! Lo storytelling è perfetto, come anche il bilanciamento dei neri. Alcune scelte stilistiche mi ricordano un altro grandissimo disegnatore di storie fantasy-horror contemporaneo di Ditko: Alex Toth. E, sorprendentemente, quell'ultimo pannello mi ha fatto subito pensare a un nostro attuale maestro del genere: Corrado Roi.
