Description

I hadn't heard of Simon Vanderlaan until I saw several items being sold on behalf of his estate by an antique dealer outside of Seattle. This particular painting grabbed my attention and impressed me enough for me to add it to my collection. It looks to me like it was meant for the cover of a spy novel, but I've had no luck tracking down a published version of the painting (yet)! Not sure why the entire cigarette is smoking rather than just the tip, though.

I also had never heard of Vanderlaan until the estate paintings were being sold. I also bought one and think his art is excellent!
