DescriptionThis was the last time Wolverine was a pathetic weakling, not to mention comic relief (apparently). No wonder the gods have chosen to make the page disappear into the ether. Was the Dark Phoenix Saga the best superhero storyline of the 70s to early 80s? Possibly, but only because most comics during that time were pretty awful. Claremont and Byrne perfected the spandex soap opera - romance, true lurve, violence, genocide, and PG raunch. Gwen Stacy "died" in 1973, so it's not as if despair was a common theme for superheroes of the disco era. And sadness lingers longer in the memory...Social/Sharing |

Dig it. Especially that topsy turvy center panel. Kudos.

An Amazing piece! Congratulations! This page introduced me to the concept of gravity. Being a kid and seeing that not even Wolverine can do anything about it, the way his expanded mass takes him through the building straight into the sewers, all the movement on this page, that's some incredible action. The X-Men were being defeated by evil, evil people and it was crazy. These villains seemed so powerful. Would our heroes survive? Sorry the memories just get me a little emotional I guess :) And Shaw coming out of nowhere with his evil grin and grabbing Ororo while she's flying... So many mermories! Thank you for sharing!!

Wow Suat I'm guessing this one cost a pretty penny. Nostalgia to the max here.
