Description

What you see here is the soul of Singapore Comics Community (SCC) and a showcase of the talents we have from our first Art Jam project commemorating the 5th anniversary of our FB group!

This beautiful piece spanning 2 pieces of A3 artboard drawn by 19 talents is well storied, taking almost a year to complete initiated by Singapore comic artist Kang Jing 's (Creator of “The World My Arena” comic series) post at the start of the year in January 2019 for an Art Jam. All the artists involved had to do a single comic related character of their choice and make arrangements to pass on the piece to the next person. The intention was to either auction the final piece with all proceeds going to fund future SCC events or to have a lucky draw to find the owner of this gorgeous artwork.

It was then decided that the artwork would be auctioned. By the time Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) 2019 came along, the artwork had traveled around Singapore for 11 months and was mostly complete. The remainder was finished at the SCC booth during the event.

The art jam was open for bidding on the SCC FB page from 30 November to the evening of 8 December 2019 to coincide with the conclusion of SGCC with me as the lucky auction winner!

Special thanks to SCC admin, Amran Medgen, for helping me identify the artists who contributed and took the effort to produce a gorgeous looking legend of who drew what to boot!
