Description

Detective Comics #987, Mark Brooks Variant Cover Original Painting (DC Comics, 2018). "On the Outside - Finale" closes out this specific arc that saw Batman working closely with The Outsiders, including Black Lightning, Katana, The Signal, and Orphan. Mark Brooks did this variant which features a towering Batman encapsulating an action packed car chase scene with Batman on the roof of a car. Mark told me he watched his son play car racing games on his Playstation for inspiration for the car designs. The cover is full color mixed media consisting of copics and acrylics, resulting in super vibrant colors that practically jump off the page. It is done on 16" X 24" Arches Hotpress Smooth Watercolor paper mounted on illustration board. Art is signed in the lower right corner by Mark.
