DescriptionWas very fortunate to obtain this while still in college, nearly 30 years ago! I remember buying this comic off the newsstands just a decade before that and could never forget how the Inhumans, stricken with illness from manmade pollution, turn to the Fantastic Four to help move their city of Attilan from the Himalayas to the Blue Area of the Moon! For many years I tried to reassemble the entire book (cover + 22 page story) and besides the cover was able to get over 1/3 of the pages (including the climatic end splash) but ultimately decided to keep only the cover. Terry's inks on this only make the small details pop and standout even more!Social/Sharing |

WOW!!! This is beyond cool Will! The image is absolutely incredible! Man, you had some amazing foresight (and great taste) back then to pick this up! And kudos to you also for holding on to this gem and the others in your collection!

The Inhumans are what originally attracted me to the FF. Always glad to read their stories - like this one.

Great image exhibiting what a cool powerhouse Black Bolt is! Like the overall composition, and the detailing on the city of Attilan is outstanding - really must be a sight to pore over in person! Congrats, Will!

Holy cow! These two masterful artists decided to leave nothing on the table when they created this one. It really is an incredible work of art from bottom to top. Major congrats!!!

Will, that' is BEAUTIFUL! But one thing. You wrote "NO" instead of "YES!". you might want to fix. ;-)

His name is actually Oatmeal Thing, not Mudball Thing. If you don't agree, we should fight it out to see who's right! Oh, congrats on a classic, Will!

Ruben you're on... but keep in mind, in the fight we must maintain a proper 6ft space for social distancing, it'll be challenging, but I'm game... It's cloberlin time! -MUDBALL Thing

Hah! You're right! I guess we'll have to talk each other into submission! Stay safe out there! - OATMEAL Thing.

Appreciate all the kind words, here's a couple observations: never known this 'devolved' version of the Thing as anything but Mudball but maybe things are said differently further North! I have no problem with the easy words either --NO means no :O)

Uff-da! Does the descriptor "classic" even begin to cover this? I have SUCH a sentimental attachment to this issue... I started reading Byrne FF about mid-way through his run, and as I was raiding comic shops to acquire the rest of his issues, this somehow managed to be the last one I picked up (besides the ones still to be released :) ). I think it cost me the princely sum of $3.00 (from a lovely little hole-in-the-wall comic shop in Michigan while on a family trip, if memory serves)!
Totally worth every penny, of course, and even more than the STUNNING artwork, the imaginitive integration of real-world social concerns (pollution) into the narrative (in a novel and non-hackneyed way) is still inspiring to this day. Just a typical day in the life of The World's Greatest Comic Magazine, I suppose. Thanks for shaing this, Will!
