Description

2009, the Grandmaster and the Collector watch Hulk, Dr. Strange, Namor and Silver Surfer battle Red Hulk, Baron Mordo, Tiger Shark and Terrax

This Ed McGuinness double page splash features the cosmic beings known as the Grandmaster and the Collector, who have decided to hold a contest between super beings, with each picking evenly matched opponents to see who can beat who. The Grandmaster picks the original Defenders as his team, including the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Sub-Mariner and the Silver Surfer. The Collector picks a group he calls the Offenders, which includes Red Hulk, Baron Mordo, Tiger Shark and Terrax. As the two beings observe from deep space, we see scenes of four different battles going on between the two sides. McGuinness and Vines have been one of the best art teams in comics over past two decades, and this is a great example of their work featuring several very popular Marvel characters.

Nicely laid out with lots to look at! I particularly like the ink job of the Doc Strange vs. Mordo fight! Congrats!
