Description

This is an absolutely AMAZING piece by Thomas Haller Buchanan. I am always drawn to cityscapes and the detail in this piece simply blew me away. Not to mention the total shout out to Michael Kaluta (of who I am also a big fan).

Per Thomas- his inspiration for the piece was actually the plane - a P26 Peashooter (because it is a Kaluta favorite). The setting he chose was a period cityscape (hence, The Shadow) with Michael hurtling though the downtown city "canyons" (albeit legally). I really appreciate all of the detail in the background- King Kong, Myrna Loy, the ads, the street car, the zeppelin...everything adds perfectly to the ambiance.

He is an amazing talent and a lot of his work has a very cool art nouveau style.
