DescriptionA great Spider-Man commission by Giuseppe Camuncoli done during Facts 2019.Giuseppe doesn’t really do commissions at shows. He draws great busts in order to satisfy as many fans as possible (which is a great approach but not my preferred format). Nor does he sells his art. The rare pieces you see in collections come from the inkers’ cut. So when I knew he was an upcoming guest at Facts, I reached out to him in order to hopefully set something up in advance. But he was too busy for that, telling me to come to him early at the show. No promise though. Well I did and it took some time and persuasion for him to accept a full figure commission, the only one he drew at the show I believe. I’ve “known” Camo for some time, when he was already a pro but well before he exploded on the US scene. That probably helped. While there are characters I prefer than spider-Man (which I love mind you), I could not pass the chance to have him draw his somewhat signature character. I truly believe that Camo will be considered as one of the top modern Spidey artists at some point. Simply because he had a long run on the character and even more so considering the high quality of his work on this run. Now it’s a classic swinging Spidey we have here, ready for battle. The pose reminds me of Sal Buscema’s version of the character, a compliment I could extend to Camo’s art (if you also factor the Italian art vibe). The use of shadow on the body is something Camo stylistically established during his run. It adds tension and dangerosity to the character I find (and let’s be frank, probably helps productivity). Truly thankful to Camo for accepting this fan’s request. Social/Sharing |

Awesome that he was able to do this for you, particularly as he doesn't do too many of these! Love how distinct his Spidey is. Nice example, man, and cool seeing as I just posted a Camuncoli Spidey piece myself. Congrats!

You lucky dog, that is one splendid and subtly-executed Spidey and I can clearly see the Buscema influence in the pose. Huge congrats, you pulled a great one here!!!
