Description

I'll start off by saying that Thor by JMS & Olivier Coipel is my favorite iteration of the character. It's pretty easy why that is, since my first omnibus back in 2007-2008 was the JMS/Coipel one and 13 year old me devoured it. The action, the emotional punches it packed, the epicness and weirdness of it all.

I knew that at one point I needed something by Olivier Coipel in my life. The page features Thor using his lightning (in the first panel) to create a black-out on Earth to honour his fallen Avenger, Captain America (who had died in Civil War that year). Later on in the page, we see the results, with broadcasts going black. A true moment of silence for a true hero.

Funnily enough, I was supposed to meet Olivier at three separate occassions up until now. Firstly, Paris Comic Con 2018 where he was switched to be there Saturday - I was there Friday. Secondly, another Paris Comic Con last year where for some reason he hadn't shown up on Friday, either. And thirdly, Lake Como which got canceled for obvious reasons. At both Paris fairs, I had brought my quite weighty Thor omnibus & sacrificed other books for it - so yeah, that was less than ideal.
