Description

Peter Bagge really captured early 90s youth angst with his series Hate which follows the misadventures of slacker Buddy Bradley in Seattle. In issue #8 we see Buddy as he begins to manage a band. On this page the lead singer Kurt tells his two bandmates he's giving up the hard-rock life for fatherhood.

Peter Bagge has said this fictional band has nothing to do with Nirvana and other grunge-era bands, but it's impossible not to think of them knowing it's set in early 90s Seattle.

The first 12 issues or so of Hate are known to art collectors because of the insane crosshatching done by Bagge which you can see in this piece. Purchased directly from the artist at a con.

Love this page. I haven't seen many pages from this storyline.

Thanks Bob. I think Peter Bagge has sold most all of the art to the first few issues now, but I see pages pop up now and then on Heritage. Happy hunting!
