DescriptionThis one-shot set just before the conclusion of the Dark Nights Metal event, features tales showcasing various DC heroes as they prepare for an all-out war with the Multiverse. I really enjoyed this story featuring John Constantine: The Hellblazer. Constantine has always been one of those heroes who is more comfortable operating on the margins where it's not quite clear if he is a good guy or a bad guy who just does good things.This is Rob Guillory's first story for DC comics and one of the few "super hero" stories he's done. I really think he was a good choice as his somewhat cartoony style fits Constantine's cynical perspective. In the story, Constantine meets his evil self who wants to kill Constantine after they have a drink together. I won't give anything away, but what happens is a perfect distillation of the character of John Constantine. I messaged Rob through his Web site after reading the story and he agreed to sell it to me. Social/Sharing |
