Description

It was 1967 that I discovered buying comics off the spinner rack at a local pharmacy, in my home town of Millbrae California.This particular page of Tales To Astonish #92, was one that I would always remember!This ending page had everything a young man could want of storytelling with action,adventure and a great "cliff-hanger", literally speaking at the end of the story!Just an incredible page from my youth and the first Tales to Astonish book I had ever read.I was hooked line and sinker and couldn't wait for the climactic end as to how Namor the "Sub-Mariner" would get out of his "Peril" from torpedoes firing and the fight with this ancient monster."IMPERIOUS REX" as he used to say!I always wanted to say that too,LOL.Please excuse the glare as it's totally encased in mat and glass and frame.

Superb page! I gotta chuckle that you remember the Subby story when most collectors are obsessed with the Hulk vs Surfer story. I'm with ya though!

Imperious Rex! Man, who doesn't want to find a page where Namor says that phrase? Nice! Adkins was such a great artist. I love his inking, and I really dig his pencils, too. The depth he gets in that first vertical panel is something. Score! Big congrats!

Adkins did amazing work, especially on the Silver Age twice-up pages. This is a beauty!
