8-3/8x28-7/8" thin artboard w/India ink original art by Mutt And Jeff creator Bud Fisher (1885-1954). Art is for 1922 strip No. 247 and features five panels, w/Jeff visiting New England, where he seeks Revolutionary War sightseeing spots. Seeing tree Paul Revere tied his horse to, he enters tavern where he is waited upon by Mutt, who explains George Washington was a regular. Jeff appears in every panel, Mutt appears in last three. Fisher has signed last panel. Fourth panel has worn copyright strip. Top margin has been trimmed and has slightly uneven edge. Artboard has evenly tanned w/age and has some scattered minor staining at bottom corners showing darker aging and some surface wear. VG/Fine overall. From the Estate of Disney Artist Earl Duvall, known for his work on Disney comic strips in the early 1930s and for a handful of animated short films he directed at Warner Bros. Cartoons.
