DescriptionSo if you are like me - you have been watching CAFlive on youtube and last nights episode was a DOOZY! When the planned guest Tony Brischler had tech issues, several caf members jumped on and we saw some amazing art and heard some fun and informative conversations. On the panel with Bill were Drew Clark who showed off some sweet Conan and Star Wars art. Rich Dannys who was recently the subject of a CAFlive show (even though he was a non premium member). Ruben da Collector who made some salient points and generously gifted Rich with a year long premium membership to show just how much he loves it. Finally, we had Alfredo Quintero who gave an incredible tour of his man cave with tons of Mike Zeck and other incredible works of comic art!if you missed the episode, see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejPzcrjsFa0 One thing that came up (thanks Ruben!) was the idea of Bill Cox promoting premium membership. What you gotta know is that Bill is a humble guy and doesn't push that and he is happy with any and all members. You do not need to be a premium member to enjoy caf or to be seen in a positive light by Bill. He is that magnanimus (is that even a word?) After listening to the conversation - it became clear that everyone has different reasons to become a premium member. For me the ONE and ONLY reason I became a premium member is to show my support for my favorite site on the net. I spend money on a lot of different parts of this hobby and it seemed a small sacrifice to spend it here to show support for something that increased my enjoyment by so much. I use a lot of websites, but this one is at the top of my list and I visit as often as I get a chance. It feels good to know that I am helping a small business that provides me with all this enjoyment each and every day of the year. I remember the first time I switched from regular to premium - I got a personal thank you email from Bill. Proving and solidifying in my mind that support is appreciated and that CAF really is a small business (not a faceless/heartless megacorp) that really cares about art and tries to bring collectors together. I also know there is more than this one reason to join premium - so with that - I put together a quick TOP 10 list. Feel free to comment on what I missed, got wrong or simply share your own experience as a member (premium or otherwise). thanks for looking and if you are a premium member - like this post to show your support for CAF! Started as a premium member a few years back after a long time as a regular member and wish I had started much earlier.

If you love comic art and are regularly on the site then you should support Bill with premium membership. Even those of us that have never met Bill have received his personal and helpful emails if we have had any questions about CAF. And if we have viewed and enjoyed all his efforts with youtube this past year we likely feel like we know him now as we have seen his personality and who he truly is ... he deserves our support for all the entertainment and fun he has brought to us and our hobby during this difficult time. He truly is NOT money hungry, isn't looking to promote himself, and is not overly monitizing his hobby efforts at our expense. Premium membership is the least we can do to support him in supporting the hobby we love and share. And if you have used CAF to sell art or regularly purchase it from others or find yourself constantly coming here to view art and haven't provided Bill with this basic support maybe think about what that says about you. Thank you Bill for all you have done for our hobby and especially all the joy you have brought us this past year with CAF and your youtube channel! Well said, DF! I completely agree. I'm still fairly new to all this but for me it's all about supporting my favourite website. It's that simple. I'm sure behind the scenes, there's a huge amount of work which goes on to make it all work so well, something we're all blissfully unaware of, so I am very happy to show my support. It's a small price to pay for such a great website, loved by comic art collectors - and by the artists too. They love their work to be seen, not discarded and forgotten about, and pretty much all the modern era comic artists I speak to say they love seeing their work on display here, alongside not just their current counterparts, but also alongside the older artists that inspired them to get into this and influence what they create today. Keep up the good work, Bill! You make a lot of people very happy every day. And there's not that many people that can say that about what they do (outside of certain adult industries, anyway!)

Thank you for promoting premium membership, Duke! With the prices we pay for original comic art, the yearly fee is a drop in the bucket. Bill Cox has done a wonderful thing creating, maintaining and updating this website -- the hobby wouldn't be the same without it -- and it would be so wonderful if we all supported him & the hobby in this small way. I absolutely love all the features, especially "Your Premium Dashboard." You get all your stats at the top, and even some pie graphs!! Then below that, all your pieces are arranged by Views, Comments and Likes from most to least. It's a great way to see what kinds of pieces are the most popular, which helps with making buying & selling decisions. Duke did a fantastic job of listing all the other perks, so I'll wrap this up. Let's all go for the gold!!

Firstly, you will instantly become 1000% more attractive. Secondly, you will get super powers. As sure as the Pope is Jewish, you will be flying around and shooting lasers out of your posterior in no time. Thirdly, if we get enough subscribers, Firefly and Quantum Leap come back on the air. It's very complicated to explain--legalese up the yin yang--but it's all legit and you don't need to look into it any further. So, in summation, if you don't upgrade to premium, you hate Bill Cox, and we will tell him so.*

Are you sure these are lies?I have been known to clear a room with the lasers that come from my posterior. That has to be a super power right? Me and the Spleen can form quite the dynamic duo.

Ok, you got me. Yep, its all true, but it's only for the super secret Premium Premium members. You also get a pet Mindless One, a super HAWT glamour photo of J. Jonah Jameson, and a set of professional Throwing Forks. It's the best deal around!*
*Legal Disclaimer: It's still all lies. I'm so ashamed...but I'm not ashamed of signing up for Premium! I can attribute a few of my better pieces to that membership over the last year. It's 110% worth the money, imo.

The site needs to add a "GO PREMIUM" button along the top button ribbon. They don't advertise and make people think about it often enough.

Premium is the way to go! It surprises me whenever I discover that a member on the site with a cool OA collection is still using the non-Premium, entry level version. Not only do I love the premium membership perks, but I also make regular use of the market data search and dealer market data search features. These paid for themselves in under a month. CAF is a great resource and a fun place to visit frequently, so I'm delighted to support it!

This is terrific. Couldn't agree more.
CAF and Comic Art Live have been invaluable to me as I start my OA collecting journey. I would add that CAF Premium isn't just useful for fans of superhero art. It's a pretty diverse community filled with folks who collect art from wonderful indie artists, prominent illustrators, painters, etc. I spend hours just browsing through galleries and use what I see to shape my own collecting interests.

I gotta check the video out - missed that one but I'll definitely go back and watch! Really do appreciate the add here, duke, and I could not agree more. All about SUPPORT for Bill - the MAN/lynchpin to this cental place where we all can share and interact on this crazy fun artsy geeky cool stuff we love so much. Becoming a premium member is some of the lowest hanging fruit in terms of supporting CAF. AND as a premium member you get all sorts of perks?! What're you waiting for?! Get to it! :)
