Description

I'm a huge fan of Cam Kennedy and his incredible work on the two part Dark Empire series and other Star Wars titles he worked on in the 90's and early 2000's for Dark Horse. This impressive cover features my favorite rendition of Fett by Kennedy. What's interesting about this piece is that Kennedy originally submitted a penciled/inked cover for publishing. Dark Horse than had it digitally colored, giving the entire artwork a monochromatic blue tone and also adding conspicuously "Digital" looking details on the background. The digital colors are stylistically different from Kennedy's usual lush painted work. Kennedy decided to add paint to his original penciled/inked piece shortly after the book was published in 2003, perhaps to fully realize his vision. The result is this eye-popping masterpiece.

The early 2000's digital coloring was not up to standards. I'm glad we got to see Cam's vision fully rendered!
