Description

This is Plate No. 5 from Stephen Fabian's "Queen of the Black Coast" portfolio, published by the House of Fantasy Bookstore in 1976. This plate illustrates Robert E. Howard's quintessential hero, Conan, battling for his life as "the rest were on him in a nightmare rush of blazing eyes and dripping fangs."

Having reread all the original Howard Conan stories in the last couple of years I appreciate the work Fabian put in on this series of plates, even more.
