DescriptionI think we all have our collecting goals. Some collectors get to reach them, some have long ago, and some are still searching. Really, I guess we're all always searching aren't we? (PS - Not sure if saying collecting goals is appropriate - let's just say we all have our "want lists").And even if the cover to Amazing Fantasy 15 is on your want list (yeah, pretty sure that's on just about everyone's) you've likely got a list, practical or not. Maybe it's something small, maybe it's something big. Almost surely it's something that means something to you, personally, for any myriad numbers of reasons. And when you check that box it almost certainly makes you smile. A Glenn Fabry Preacher piece has long been on my want list, basically ever since I started collecting OA. And even though Nomad is my all-time favorite character, Preacher is my all-time favorite series. And I don't think any writer does it better than Ennis and for my money no team did it better than Ennis, Dillon and Fabry on Preacher. I knew a cover was gonna' be tough - they're rare and the price is high. Plus, frankly, a fair amount of the Preacher covers I wasn't going to seek out - maybe Jesse isn't on it or for whatever other reason. Not all covers are alike after all. But I wanted a Fabry Preacher and I wanted one bad. In my searches I found this piece thanks to Marc Mokken, who was awesome to deal with I'll tell you, and it was in my price range. Not a published cover, but better than some for me and it had the three main characters all posing for what I can only see as a portrait. It looks to me almost like they sat for Glenn. (And Jesse is clearly none too thrilled about it). Now I can check a box and appreciate the brilliant work of Glenn Fabry on my wall on a regular basis. Thanks again Marc. PS - This was printed in Glenn's sketchbook #3. Social/Sharing |

This is so awesome, I adjusted my screen back and forth a few times just to see if I can catch more details of it.

Very cool, never seen that. Thanks for sharing! See some slight differences, mainly in Tulip, but definitely the same pose and must be the precursor to the painted version.

Great piece! And yes! Agreed totally on the "want" list and this is definitely on it.
