DescriptionReed, Johnny, and Ben Grimm are trapped in a hypnotic dome!Jack Kirby narrowed his focus to the F.F. Thor and Cap books in the mid 1960's which allowed him more time to refine his work. Thanks to the slick and stylized finishes of Joe Sinnott, the art achieved a polished look that no other inker would ever give him. Unfortunately, these later F.F. stories are progressively less inspired with fewer new concepts, characters, and subplots. The art is increasingly brilliant but the stories are decreasingly not so brilliant. Even though his co-plotting credit is acknowledged by this point in time, Kirby's growing dissatisfaction with Marvel may have been one reason for what many saw as a gradual decline in the quality of the storytelling. Great page! I personally prefer the art in Kirby and Sinnott's later issues even if the stories weren't as good.

I so agree with your assessment that the art on those late FF issues was getting better and better, with the stories progressively deteriorating. This is Kirby at his absolute peak, and Sinnott's "metallic" inks were perfect for the sci-fi feel of the comic. This page is a real beauty!
