Description

Hard to explain just how responsible the Justice League reboot was for keeping me in comics. I had just started to slide away from monthly comics when I stumbled on that now iconic cover to #1 in the grocery store (on a spinner rack no less).

This was all pre-internet and, for me, pre-comic shop news. I really enjoyed the Detroit League but this book was such a great nod to the satellite years while also being something completely new. It re-energized me completely.

I think it was also the book where I first saw McKone's artwork and fell in love. This page brings all of that together and includes a rare appearance of Will Payton outside of his own title.

Many thanks to Jordan Joanou for rehoming this wonderful McKone splash with me. Great guy.

So many bricks exploding from the center focal point. DaCollector must have thought it would be too much work to clean up after Guy and Ted. 1991 DC was a lot of wacky fun!

Ha! Agreed, Marcus. Have to love the Dueling Dealers inside jokes. And, I mixed up CAF legends, it was actually Jordan who sold me this piece. Thanks, Jordan!

I had nothing to do with this transaction, but I wish I did, because it would've been fun to own this for a while before putting it into your collection, Chris. Like Marcus says, it's a ton of wacky fun!
