Avengers Mountain Tower designs & Dark Celestials designs / concepts

I'm a big fan of designs and concept art and McGuinness always delivers some of the best. These designs were done of 5 separate sheets of paper in 2018 and signed by Ed in 2021. I love getting a bit of insight into his artistic mind and process with each piece.

These are Ed's designs for the Avengers Mountain Tower, Callus the Void, Obliteron, Valknar the Exhumer, which he and Jason Aaron created for Avengers volume 8 and beyond. I loved seeing what they've created to add to Kirby's original creation of the Celestials back in the 70's.

The Dark Celestials first appeared in Avengers (Vol 8) issue #1. "Callus the Void was a member of the Final Host of Dark Celestials, a race of Celestials mutated and turned rabid by the Horde."

The Avengers Mountain Tower first appeared in Avengers (Vol 8) issue # 8 in the arctic. It's been great seeing the tower pop up across the MCU in books like Black Panther #9.

McGuinness is good at this because of his big and bold artwork, unafraid to show any angle of characters in his art.

So true! He really knows how to go big and bold with clear vision and purpose even if that purpose is over exagirated and fun, which is one of my favorite things about some comics.
