Description

This is the final prelim for the "Lords of the Starship" project. After Paul produced eight prelims, we had a discussion about pulling elements from my favorites and combining that all into a single final prelim. I really loved the sky, buildings, and foreground elements from #2 and the rockets from #7 and #8, but facing in the oppposite direction. Paul understood and within a couple of weeks this arrived in the mail. The final prelim was slightly larger than all the rest at 7.5 x 7.75 inches and it was perfect! I immediately called Paul and asked him to paint it exactly like that at 25 inches square. I just knew that it was going to be a magnificent painting. Little did I know what was about to transpire.

The white at the top of the ship really helps balance things out with the bright yellow of the city and fire at the ship's base.
