DescriptionHardware # 13 page 13Art by Denys Cowan and Prentis Rollins Milestone Comics - March 1994 I'm thrilled to add some art from my childhood. I'm looking forward to the Hardware relaunch next week (August 10, 2021)! I've only seen a handful of Cowan's art from Hardware online but hope to see more in the future. I'm very excited to add this early page from the series giving us some insights to being married and being a superhero. Social/Sharing |

My appreciation of Cowan grows the older I get. The guy is simply a master storyteller, and the detail he puts into every character in each panel is just stunning. This is a great example of his work.

I am right there with you! So much of that was lost on me as a kid. It's been very rewarding looking back on some of these books as an adult.

They were covering the word balloons up so they could do it again by computer? The linework by Cowan would have benefitted from today's printing process as they were too tight to digitize back then.

Great call out. I looked back and it does look like they redid the lettering digitally as the letters are slightly larger (within the same size word boxes/balloons) in the print version. I've never seen that technique before.
I'm totally with you. I would love to see an artist edition of Cowan's work after seeing some of these pages in their original form.
