Description

TOM GILL - original art "The Lone Ranger" #142 page 4, published by Dell, 1961.
Art is from "The Boomerang Trap" by longtime Dell Lone Ranger comic artist Tom Gill (1913-2005) and features five panels, showing Lone Ranger and Tonto in every panel. Silver and Scout appear in a few panels as well (last panel shows Silver's "LR" Lone Ranger stirrups).

Nella mia collezione non poteva mancare Lone Ranger, uno dei personaggi storici del fumetto, apparve per la prima volta nel 1933 come protagonista di un programma radiofonico. Dato l'enorme successo la King Features Syndicate distribu� una comic strip di Lone Ranger dal settembre 1938 al dicembre 1971. L'artista originale era Ed Kressy, ma fu sostituito nel 1939 da Charles Flanders che disegn� la striscia fino alla sua conclusione.
Nel 1948 la Dell Comics lanci� una serie di fumetti che dur� 145 numeri. Questa serie originariamente consisteva in ristampe delle strisce, tuttavia, nuove storie dello scrittore Paul S. Newman e dell'artista Tom Gill iniziarono con il numero 38 (1951) fino al numero finale, il n. 145 (1962).
La tavola che ho inserito � un pezzo della serie della Dell, disegnata da un ottimo Tom Gill.
