DescriptionTo me Frenz will always be the guy who drew Spider-Man but when I saw this cover it was clear I had to sacrifice to get it. One of my other favorite artists of all time is John Buscema and Frenz clearly is of that school. Frenz's Thor has a real Buscema feel and as a Fan of that title and artist, I couldn't resist the chance to own this art.Not that you should feel sorry for me - but if you want to understand my interest in this piece, I'll say that I have lost at every auction since 2016 when going after a Thor cover by Buscema. Every time I thought I had a chance someone else wanted it more. This one is not Buscema but for me is an amazing way to to take the brunt of those loses. Add Ghost Rider and Mephisto into the mix and I was powerless. As always thanks for checking out my gallery! Social/Sharing |

Can't imagine any circumstance under which I would consider this a consolation prize. And you're right, I don't feel sorry for you at all. LOL! Still looking for my first Frenz piece. Congrats on picking up this winner!

I remember when this issue came out - Ghost Rider was hot at the time, and my local comic book store sold more copies of this issue than it had for any other issue of Thor in years. As a result, I remember this cover vividly more than 30 years after its debut. It's a fantastic cover - congrats on this huge get!

Great cover!
Looks much better in black in white than the colored published cover. On the colored cover, I didn't notice that the demons were all Mephisto. In black and white, it's obvious.

Another Copper Age gem for you with that early 90s Ghost Rider that was hot that year. Cool piece, so nostalgic!

I love with all the hell blasts, chain whips, lightning storms, and flying hammer choices, these guys just want to get up close and punch a dude's face!

Ghost Rider along with Wolverine and Spider-Man was crossover bait every month in the early 90's as fans could not get enough. Thor with Ghost Rider works when fighting Mephisto or other mystical villains to highlight his more mythological powers, so the tactic was well warranted. This Frenz / Milgrom is in the great action cover tradition we have missed since everyone went poster pin up style.

This cover is so memorable, the instant I saw Glen post it for sale I also posted it to Instagram. I saw it was a sold quickly thereafter. I knew this one would go quickly. Congrats on landing this!

I smell sulfur. Better call the gas company...Dude, this is amazing! Certainly no consolation prize. :) Mephisto(s), Thor, Ghost Rider, spiked knuckles, Mjolnir...Two KRAKA-THOOMS way up. I couldn't dig this more. Huge congrats!

Frenz is GREAT. End of story. The guy knows how to draw and tell a story and he was directed to keep this title with a nostalgic house style feel and it worked like gangbusters. One of my favorite titles and runs by any artist ever. Confound you Fleed I just missed this. I swear I'll have my vengeance! So speakerh me! Bravo anyway!

The character content on this Frenz run was fantastic. A great mix of classic rivalries and unlikely team-ups. Thor and Ghost Rider? Never seen that one before, but sign me up!

Outstanding get, duke! Yes, strong JB feel but still RF. Love that classic kind of "2 vs the world" image, and you don't see Thor and GR teaming up that often. Definitely a classic shot of a battling Thor, and I like how Frenz went with a black backdrop at the top behind the title lettering - adds a nice contrast that helps make the cover. Congrats!

Amazing and action-packed piece by the usual great combo of artist-friends. And the mighty "God of Of Useless 1990s Crossovers" definetly chose another highly strange hero combo to torture us readers like Mephisto himself, by Odins bristling beard !
