The illustrations came to life and communicated with the audience the ethos of the times and the motivations with emotions of the characters operating within that space. This was around the time of his well lauded masterpiece, and his artwork here, while less personal, is nonetheless in that same spirit. It brought thrilling war related stories in the skies with the twist that is very much anti war and how war deprives us of our humanity.
