Description

Brian Wood's Dark Horse run is one of my favorites of the many comics adapting or expanding upon Robert E. Howard's original Conan stories. The 25 issue series focused on Conan's relationship and adventures with Belit, his soulmate from The Queen of the Black Coast. Paul Azaceta provided art for a 3 issue arc entitled Black Stones, which included this page, in which Belit takes issue with a tavern patron's boorish behavior and teaches him a lesson in etiquette. SNATCH, SHING, KRUNCH!

Azaceta's work on those issues was some of my favorite art from those Wood issues. Great page-congrats on this!

Never try to take away Belit's drink, ever. The darkness from shadows and thick lines frame each figure with a seriousness and heavy feel. Very beautiful half splash of the cavernous bar.
