Description

It's time for Batman and Robin to kick some butt! Scarecrow butt! I bought this page a loooong time ago at a convention in some tiny hotel. Can barely remember the convention, other than meeting a fan who was THRILLED to get my autograph on some of my own books, telling me he'd found them all in a quarter bin. Thanks for letting me know, dude! I remember the hotel being "American Old West / Indian" themed, too, and I remember (dammit) never quite getting around to talking to Bernie Wrightson. Can't remember much more of the convention, but I remember that I bought this for Colleen Coover, who I was just starting to date back in those days. It must have worked because we're still together. It just goes to show you that the old adage is true: when you're wooing a girl, forget flowers and diamonds, buy her original Batman pages.

Brad Rader's Scarecrow really cranes his neck out in the first panel as an extention to how he stretches like an animated figure. The high angle shot really sets up the field of combat as Batman and Robin fight their way out.

Man, Rader killed it on this one! Scarecrow looks amazing. And Bats and Robin are great as well. Thanks for sharing this. Sounds like it has lots of sentimental value outside of just being a cool drawing!
